Characteristics of a Virtual Student
Grades 5 & 6
Students who wish to attend The Conroe Virtual School must submit the Application Form.
The student and parents/guardian should consider the following typical characteristics of a successful virtual school student when applying:
STAAR meets or masters
Self-motivated educationally
Minimal assistance with learning; self-engaged and self-problem solving
Minimal accommodations or services provided due to limitations via virtual
Mature for their age
High integrity/character
Able to learn and establish (with the minimal assistance of parents and the virtual school) a learning structure/routine/environment to maximize learning
Seeks help when they struggle or do not understand
Parents who support their student but value the importance of their child learning the material and demonstrating proficiency independently

Grades 7-12

Students who wish to attend The Conroe Virtual School must submit the Application Form.
The student and parents/guardian should consider the following typical characteristics of a successful virtual school student when applying:
Self-motivated educationally
Independent; self-engaged and self-problem solving
Is at the meets or master’s level for STAAR/EOC
Minimal accommodations or services provided due to limitations via virtual learning
Mature for their age
Able to independently create a learning structure/routine/environment to maximize learning
High integrity/character
Seeks help when they struggle or do not understand
